MEET BERNICE
Bernice is a passionate Catholic, mother of two, and dedicated advocate for Catholic education. Her children attend an HCDSB elementary school, and she is committed to ensuring students receive an excellent education rooted in Christ and the Catholic faith.
Bernice and her family are active parishioners at St. Paul the Apostle Parish in Burlington. Her children serve as altar servers, her husband is involved with the Knights of Columbus, and the family supports Baptism Preparation. Bernice sings in the parish choir, and the family is involved with Regnum Christi, Challenge & Conquest, and ECYD, where they volunteer to support children’s faith and character development.
A Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA), Bernice brings financial expertise and champions responsible budgeting, transparency, accountability, prudent stewardship, and alignment with the Board’s long-term strategic plan and priorities.

Protect the Sanctity of Life
I will stand firmly for the sanctity of human life, defending the inherent dignity and value of every person by advocating for the reinstatement of the 2018 Sanctity of Life Motion.
Seek Unity in Our Nation's Flag
I will advocate for the Canadian Flag to be the sole national flag displayed at HCDSB schools. This provides a consistent, unifying symbol that reflects our shared Canadian identity and brings together all our families.
Strengthen Catholic Education
I will advocate for Catholic curriculum testing and public reporting of results. Transparency and accountability help parents understand outcomes and ensure students receive a strong, authentic Catholic education. We all expect excellence in math, science, and English, so the same standards should apply to the Catholic curriculum.
